In the History Books
What a fitting way to say goodbye.
The work has been included in a wonderful art history text on contemporary art titled Art in the Making edited by Glenn Adamson, and Julia Bryan-Wilson. When the book arrived it opened to a random page and revealed one of my heroes, Marina Abromovic, then—two pages earlier was find my own work. This is certainly a pinnacle and a lovely validation and conclusion of my visual art making journey. To be officially part of art history—in the “performing” section among some of my heroes. To be listed in the index just alphabetically near people like Joseph Beuys and Chris Burden is a gift. It makes me grateful for the moments in time i followed the wonderful energy of art and simply did what it told me to do.

This comes in addition to being included in Internet Art by Rachel Greene, the Rhizome book, and a few other titles, but this is especially important because the work is included not as a niche art or a specific identity-based or technology-based art, but in the larger arc of contemporary art. Just finally, art.
