"Art should make you think and feel.
It doesn't have to match your couch."
- damali ayo

My visual art tells stories and engages the world through often using my body as well as my life as material. Initially self-taught, I used media including collage, assemblage, installation, as well as both street and stage performance to communicate a wide variety of ideas. I emerged as “conceptual artist,” showing in Portland, New York, and a few spots around the globe. I then earned a Masters of Fine Art (MFA) from Portland State University.

Below are samples of my art about social issues.
